May Predatory Chasing Workshop

  • Started 7 May
  • 80 British pounds
  • RSPCA Westmorland - Beezon Fields, Kendal, LA9 6BL

Service Description

Does your dog chase after squirrels? Do they go deaf when they see a rabbit? Then this is the workshop for you! Predatory chasing is a VERY common issue for dog owners, because it is an innate natural instinct - it is in their DNA! This 4-part workshop is based on Predation Substitute Training (PST) - a method developed by Simone Mueller. It is a motivation-based and need-oriented training program, designed to stop uncontrolled predatory chasing and to provide safe outlets for your dog’s natural predatory energy. Instead of discipline or punishment, this training protocol focuses on harnessing your dogs natural instincts rather than working against them. It teaches you and your dog how to work as a team when it comes to hunting and stopping the chase. Please come without your dog to Week 1 & 2. Dogs welcome in Week 3 & 4. IMPORTANT: This workshop is NOT about livestock chasing, or dogs who are chasing pets, children, cyclists, joggers. This workshop is for dogs who chase wildlife - deer, rabbits, squirrels, birds!
